Investigating the impact of the wavelength of light on the voltage output of a solar panel
An experimental investigation testing how incident light wavelength affects the open-circuit voltage of a 12W monocrystalline silicon solar panel across five discrete LED bands: Ultraviolet (367.5 nm), Blue (460 nm), Green (527.5 nm), Red (655 nm), and Infrared (850 nm) at a controlled 20 cm perpendicular distance. Evaluates the initial linear hypothesis against silicon bandgap limits (Eg ≈ 1.12 eV), thermalization losses, and non-ohmic LED behavior.
